Color Run

Image
My brother, sister, sister-in-law, nephew and I all participated in the Color Run this past weekend. I've posted photos....feel free to take a look. Just click on the picture below for more!!! It was a HOT day in Omaha - we all finished, but it sure would have been nice to have had more water stations throughout the course. I know I was exhausted and overheated by the end of the 5k Fun Run! Thanks for pushing me guys!!!

Tom Mangelsen & Jane Goodall

I just realized it's been an aweful long time since I've posted to our blog. Well...to say that we haven't had much going on that was really "note-worthy" would be true. It's been the same ol' routine activities. Well, that is until this past weekend. Over the last year or so Mr. L and I have purchased a couple of prints from Tom Mangelsen . I have to admit we LOVE his work. If we could afford it financially and time off from work, we would take advantage of some of his safari trips. So back to this weekend, Mangelsen's Images of Nature had a private collectors event where we would have the opportunity to meet Tom Mangelsen and Dr. Jane Goodall . The event was held at Mangelsen's Downtown Omaha Images of Nature Gallery and was arranged to help sponsor Dr. Goodall's work. Well, during the evening - which was just fabluous. Great hors d'oeuvres, some wine, we even ran into some friends. Below are some photos we took during the event. ...

Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive

Mom and I took part of our annual tradition of bell ringing for the Salvation Army last week. Weather wasn't too bad, a little cold, but mom made us some hot cider and the two hours outside of HyVee went quickly. We did better this year than last year! Our totals for the last two years are listed below. Each year we've donated two hours! 2007 -- $26.40 2008 -- $28.43 Thanks for a fun night Mom!!! Hopefully we can do better next year and aim for $35.00 in our two hour time frame! Remember...you can still donate to the Salvation Army -- click on my Red Kettle on the Right!

Can Fest 6 - 2008

Image
Last night was so much fun!!! Mom and I have a 6-year tradition of supporting the KAT Country CanFest for the Omaha Food Bank. This year yet again lived up to the past performances! The table of ladies next to us, kept us laughing so hard our stomachs were hurting by the end of the night. This year the performers included: Chad Lee, Jeremy McComb, Josh Gracin, Jake Owen, and Eric Church! Below are some pictures. I asked one of the gals at the table next to us -- the crazy fun table -- to send me some of her pictures since they were coming out so much better than mine of the 5 guys on stage! I'll post those pix as soon as I have them! Over the years, mom and I have seen the following people at KAT Can Fest: Craig Morgan, Joe Diffie, Billy Dean (x2), Jimmy Wayne, Mark Chesnutt, Collin Raye, Catherine Britt, Blue County, Ty Herndon, Sarah Buxton, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Rhett Akins, Carolina Rain, Lee Brice, Hal Ketchum, Chad Lee, Jeremy McComb, Josh Gracin, Jake Owen, and Eric Church !...
