My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Boy Scouts & their families that were involved in last night's tornado. Well, we are basically done the patio!!!! Saturday Lou & I were able to get all the stones laid and started to fill in the cracks with sand, but after an hour of sweeping sand, decided to stop for the night rent a couple of movies and relax!!! Enjoy the photos!!!

Well, it's official...an EF2 tornado hit the Millard area of Omaha (this is the area where Lou & I live). I've included some links to stories about the storm below. But here is the story as Lou & I experienced it... Around 2:00 / 2:15 a.m. Sunday June 8th, we heard some really strong winds and rain outside. I felt Lou get out of bed and saw a glow coming from one of our spare rooms, knowing he was watching TV, I got out of bed and looked out the window - couldn't really see our neighbors house due to the rain coming down parallel to the ground due to the strength of the wind. I then went in to the spare room to sit with Lou and watch the news/weather. While watching, they comment that around 156th & Giles had a tornado touch down. Now for those of you who don't know Omaha very well, this is just about 4 blocks away from our house. The sirens still hadn't gone off and they are saying there is a tornado?!?! Shortly there after, about 2:30ish, the sirens go...

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to help my roses???

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the hail and horrible storm, but these videos will (hopefully) show you the strength of the winds from last night.

Okay, so as I'm sure most have heard...we are not done with the patio yet...We did get a really nice weekend and were able to make a huge improvement. We were almost done and realized that something wasn't right and the patio wasn't squaring up properly so we had to stop and walk away for a bit...Here's the progression: Saturday -- Lou got an early start on the patio, I went and got my hair done and then ran to Lowe's for a few more bags of paver base and a few more patio stones. Somehow we didn't count correctly for the patio stones. Driving around to two different Lowe's I was finally able to find everything. Shortly after I got home, Rob stopped over to help us for a little bit. Little did he know how much he was getting into. Rob did suggest that we build up the farthest part of the patio since there was about a 6-7inch drop from the highest point.
