One more thing to check off the list!

After looking at many many reception halls...we have decided on one! We will be having our reception at the Georgetowne Club! Oh wow! This is just wonderful...I'm really glad we have the "major" things set now! Oh and we've altered the time of the wedding a bit...it's now 6:30pm instead of 7:00pm!

Wedding Planning Update

Image
Okay so not a whole lot has been happening since my last post -- well, actually we are getting close to picking out our reception hall. We have it narrowed down to just a handful of places and are hoping to have a hall picked out by the end of the week. It's really hard to keep the wedding ceremony, reception, and hotels all close together. Just doesn't seem that many of the West Omaha hotels have banquet rooms large enough to hold a wedding reception. Oh well...I hope to look at one more place (depending on the pricing information I should be receiving any moment now). Tonight Lou & I meet for the first time with our priest at St. Stephen's . I'm so excited. It's just hard to believe this is all really happening. I'm sure as time goes on it will feel even more surreal. Like Lou said the other night, I'm anxious for April to be here! Lou picked up my "real" ring last night... It just seems like everything is falling into place so nicely! More...

It's Set!

Well, it's offical! Lou and I have set a date for the wedding! April 11, 2008 @ 7:00 pm St. Stephen's Church in Omaha! It's hard to believe that a date has been set!

BIG NEWS

Image
Hey everyone! I have some wonderful big news to share with you all... Lou proposed to me Sunday evening! Yes...of course I said yes!!!! We haven't set a date as of yet...we actually haven't even really talked much about details. I have the Cox Classic this week/weekend and then he and I will sit down next week to really discuss plans and details! Stay posted for more information in the coming months!!! Below is a picture of the "temporary" ring. Once I have the ring he ordered I'll post a picture of that as well. Now for those of you that want the details...here's how he did it... Sunday night was the pairings party for the Monday Pro-Am with the golf tournament. Lou and I were going to attend and see what we could find in the auctions and just have a nice evening out. We got to the golf course a little early and Lou commented on wanting to walk around a little to see what new things have been added this year (this is Lou's second year NOT with the tour...

Sweden Pictures

Check out the link to the left...I've updated my Shutterfly Account with "some" pictures from Sweden. This will be a work in progress as I am still receiving some photos from team members and I'm also trying to update the titles and descriptions of each photo. I hope you enjoy!

Mastectomy Bill in Congress

I got this from a gal at work...I checked online to be sure this really is a current bill, and it is. Please read the following important Information on a mastectomy bill going before congress in September. From a nurse: I'll never forget the look in my patients eyes when I had to tell them they had to go home with the drains, new exercises and no breast. I remember begging the Doctors to keep these women in the hospital longer, only to hear that they would, but their hands were tied by the insurance companies. So there I sat with my patient giving them the instructions they needed to take care of themselves, knowing full well they didn't grasp half of what I was saying, because the glazed, hopeless, frightened look spoke louder than the quiet 'Thank you' they muttered. A mastectomy is when a woman's breast is removed in order to remove cancerous breast cells/tissue. If you know anyone who has had a mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain...

Finally...House Pictures!

Image
Well, I finally got around to taking some pictures of the work mom, Lou and I accomplished! I hope you enjoy! Not too much to report at this time...The golf tournament will be starting in just over 1 week! I can't believe it's that time already. I'll try to get some pictures while I'm out on course and post them here so all can see what I do while I'm "working". Here is the front of the house...we put the wall and ring around the tree and also put in the landscaping below the window on the front! Eventually, we are going to make it to the back yard...I've already started to kill the grass under the porch. It's such a pain to cut and we've decided it would be easier to just put the black tarp down and then put rock on top. This way no mowing under the porch! ... And my WELCOME sign.
